Griefeater
feat. Void.404
An orchestra on ecstasy inside a collapsing cathedral. Modern metal, deathcore intensity, black metal atmosphere, and orchestral production fused into a single track. Out 29 May 2026.
The Announcement
Vienna / Zagreb, May 2026. Modern metal and deathcore artist Brec Destroyer, operating between Vienna and Croatia, announces a new single titled Griefeater, set for release on May 29, 2026, in collaboration with composer, guitarist, and producer Josip Pilipić aka Void.404. Josip wrote the music; Brec Destroyer wrote the lyrics and performed all vocals. The two of them then jointly brought in the rest of the international lineup, pulling together names from the current global metal scene around a single shared idea for the track.
The Sound
Griefeater merges the heaviness of deathcore, the atmosphere of black metal, and orchestral production into a single sonic gesture. The artist describes it directly: "an orchestra on ecstasy inside a collapsing cathedral." No genre tag covers the full shape of the track. It moves between weight, melody, and ritualistic atmosphere without asking permission from any one scene.
This is not a casual release. It is the first in a series of four singles Brec Destroyer plans to put out across 2026, leading up to a collaboration with the project Titan Spine (featuring former Jinjer drummer Dmitry Kim). Griefeater sets the tone for what the rest of the year will sound like.
The Lineup
The collaborators on Griefeater were chosen for what they specifically bring to this track, not for credit-list optics. Brec Destroyer and Josip Pilipić (Void.404) reached out together to assemble the lineup. Each role is filled by someone whose work already speaks for itself in the international metal scene.

In the Artist's Words
This song is a monster. Josip and I built something that sounds like an orchestra on ecstasy in a collapsing cathedral. Without the crew that jumped on board, this track wouldn't exist in this form.

The Music Video
An official music video is in preparation alongside the single, with release expected shortly after the track's premiere. Visual direction will follow the same sonic principle: dense, ritualistic, and uncompromised. Updates will appear on the news page and on the official YouTube channel the moment the video is finished.
What Comes After
Griefeater is the first announced release in a four-single arc planned for 2026. The arc will close with a collaboration involving Titan Spine, the project featuring former Jinjer drummer Dmitry Kim. The throughline across all four singles is a deliberate widening of the Brec Destroyer sonic palette, more orchestration, more atmosphere, more weight, without losing the songwriting core the project has always run on.
Each single in the arc will get its own story page on this site as it is announced. Griefeater is the first of the four. The rest are already being built.
Pre-Save and Links
Pre-saving the single is the most useful thing a listener can do before release. It puts the track on your library the moment it drops and signals to the streaming algorithms that the song has an audience waiting for it. That signal is real, and it matters for everything that comes after.

Closing
Griefeater is the kind of song the project was always working toward. Heavier than anything before it, wider in production, and more ambitious in lineup, while keeping the songwriting voice that has defined Brec Destroyer since the project began in 2022. The release on 29 May 2026 is the start of a year that has been planned with intent.
